Artist's Description
I had a great-grandmother of Welsh decent who I was told I was very much like. While trying to find what part of Wales my family was from, I painted this. I still don't know, but when I do I'm going there!

Carolyn: Thank you for your comment on my work. Your trees are great!! This one resembles the Ceiba a very important tree for the Mayans.

Nifty tree in it's simplicity, Carolyn! And I really appreciate your posting your heritage story. You grandmother must have been a fine painter! I was very lucky with my wife (much younger!) when we went to Slovakia about 20 years ago to search for a grandmother and perhaps other progenitors (right word?) without much hope of finding them. But we did! Wonderful reunion (not reunion but meeting!)! But maybe fewer people and less mobility due to poverty and rently prior, then, communist restraints. Good luck, again, and I'll be watching your painting and progress with them! Peace, etc., Bruce
